Unbeknownst to me, it is apparently a misdemeanor to not have a throwable device while operating a watercraft vehicle in VA. I just paid the fine and didn't think anything of it. It has never come up on any other background tests I've consented to for employment. I didn't report this on my AMCAS application nor the certiphi application. I just got my results back and this charge showed up. The charge was back in 2007, literally almost 10 years ago. Should I contact the admissions office or write a letter to the dean? Thanks in advance!

I don't think it would be too difficult to contact the admissions office and ask them for their advice. I doubt that it will cause any problems honestly, as long as you are frank. They may have you write a letter to the dean, but I suspect that they'll say you're fine. Good luck!

If the question is presented to you, a short letter to dean as explanation will suffice. I wouldnt think you need to proactive on this. And the report only goes to schools where you have been accepted

Thank you @gonnif

I kind of gurgled my coffee when I read that opie. Sorry for your unneeded stress.

Just to update, I went ahead and sent an email to the person I was directed to and they appreciated my explanation. Then the following day I went online to audit my masters degree and it had me select between the MS and MD- my graduate program is through the SOM I'm attending in August. So all is well.
