Should I do an SMP?

Hello everyone, I'm just wondering if I should take apply to an SMP program or not. I currently have a 3.291 cgpa and a 3.1 sgpa, I'm planning on taking my MCAT in January but I would like your opinion. Thanks

I think that really depends on your goal and your MCAT score. If you are really wanting MD, then Yes I think an SMP will help you. However, if you don't mind DO then you could do the DIY postbacc route and apply DO and potentially your state MD schools. Just remember SMPs are high risk.

Tbh I would recommend smp. I have a 3.0 gpa and a 507 MCAT and have not been having much luck with d.o school. I'd suggest applying to both d.o school and smps (that's what I did). I got into a few programs with a 3.0 and decent mcat.
