Should I do this?

Is it good to visit my local dental school to ask about my app status and show interest on the school? 😕

lol do not go to the school. that is creepy and probably wrong. just call them. if u want to GO to the school, i wouldnt go unless you have setup an appointment of some sort to talk to someone, and they know why youre coming. dont just roll in..............plus there is probably security that will stop u anyways

Security that will stop you? Really?

Personally, I don't think it's a bad idea.

I don't think it's a great idea. Schools know people who spend money to apply and attend interviews are interested in them. If you must, try calling. If you just show up, they may see it as a nuisance. Even if they don't, it's unlikely you'll be able to speak to anyone except the person at the desk anyways.

Thank u all for the advice. I guess I just need to be patient and wait... Don't like the waiting game.

Depends on schools... I know some schools don't like to be bothered. I get that vibe from UCLA and UCSF. You can kinda tell from the emails they send out when you apply (i.e. UCSF tells applicants not to contact them regarding application status, UCLA doesn't even give out any admissions office phone number). But some of the schools do like receiving feedbacks from their applicants. As one would say "squeaky wheel gets the oil", if you show sincere interest through a quick phone call or an email, they may give your application a quick glance. Afterall, schools do want to fill their incoming student body without getting turned down by applicants.

I don't think it's a good idea to go and ask about your app. I visited two schools before the app process. I met with one Director of Admissions for questions/advice and went on a group tour at another dental school followed up by a Q & A with Director

I believe it depends on schools
i would ask them politely first via email and if they say okay
then why not 🙂

Just GO, as long as your stats are GOOD.. I went to inquired once but it was awkward because I was already rejected and "I didn't know yet". The front desk girl called someone and said my name and some codes...so the advisors didn't even see me in an office but the waiting room to tell me my application was still under review, they didn't have the balls to tell me then or maybe they were not allowed .... lol..I had really low scores thought
