I graduated in May 2007. I obviously had a premed focus during school, but was not on pace to take the MCAT before graduation. We had a pre-health professional program which tried to nudge us to get things done, but did a so-so job at best.

Anyway, I spoke with three professors. Two were my math professors (my major) who knew me very well. One was my advisor, another I had for at least 3 classes. The third was a spanish prof. I was close enough with him during the year, but I had him the year prior. I had almost entirely math/science courses for my entire senior year, and almost all of my Jr year. This made finding a non-science prof difficult.

Anyway, these three letter were written and given to the director of our pre-health professional program. They then look over them, and will write a letter for you depending how prepared they believe you are. Like I said, I knew I was not ready to go right in, and they agreed. I was put as a good applicant who needed further prep (mcat, community service, etc). I have tons of leadership and community service, but really no medical volunteering - Im working on this now.

I don't believe I have these letters - I think they're still with that advisor. I saw the letters at the time, and they were fine but nothing exceptional. My guess is they are more in line for basic grad schools. They all said I was an exceptional student, one of their best and brightest and that they have full faith in me in the future. I believe each was only about 1 page.

Do I use these letters? Do I ask them to revise and add to them? The math profs will still remember me well. The spanish one, I don't really know. It's been years now and I only had him for the year. Can I also just ask the advisor for my letters? Am I allowed to see them?

Sorry for all the questions, but I hope the general questions got across
