Should I go to an II for a similarly ranked school?

Hi Guys,
I have recently received an II late in the cycle for Temple. I have been accepted to Saint Louis Univeristy and was wondering if it will be worth 450$ for this trip all the way to philly around the super bowl.

Not that rankings matter much but SLU is ranked lower in research and Higher in Primary care and “smart rank” this being said im kind of trying to see from you guys other factors that may be worth visiting temple. ( SLU ON Probation, maybe?

Thanks everyone

Don't pay attention to rankings. Research the school itself. What it prides itself in, amenities, location and feel. If you feel like you would accept temple over SLU attend. Also look at cost. This should provide you with better insight if it is worth it

Think about things that are important to you. For example for me, location, cost of attendance, and emphasis on community medicine was important to me. If you think Temple can give you more of the things you want than SLU, definitely go. If you're even on the fence about it, it will be worth the 450$. This is an important life choice why not see what Temple has to offer

You might LIKE Temple better or Philly better and/or consider Temple a better fit. That's why you should go. I can't comment on the relative costs between the two, but that's a valid consideration. Rankings between the two are similar enough that it shouldn't factor into your decision.

I've personally visited both schools this cycle and would highly recommend visiting Temple. Great program, wonderful environment.

Would you go to Temple over SLU? If that is even a small possibility then you need to go to Temple

Schools have different ways of calculating financial aid. I'd go to the Temple interview because it's very possible that they'd cost tens of thousands less over the 4 years.

450$? Are you spending Canadian money?

I think if you are interested in the school it will be a small sum to pay for the opportunity.

If you got into this school, would you seriously consider going? You don't have to know right now if you would choose it or not but if you would at least seriously consider it as an option, then it doesn't hurt. If you know that you wouldn't go even if you got in, then I think that's your answer right there.

Personally, I got into my top choice and I still regret turning down interviews. You never know what schools you might like until you visit.

I paid something similar when I was flying out of Philly to STL. Philly airport is weird.
