I just got in a AZCOM, should I still attend DMU interview? I have to leave in an hour
i already bought the ticket and everything and it was non refundable. no azcom was not my first choice, but Des Moine city was at the bottom of my list.
but by not going, I could save on hotel and etc...
gosh so DMU is that great huh.... but what about the fact that you have to drive alot for rotations sites and the city being, you know, Iowa? i am not a family guy, so being family friendly is not what i am looking for...

It was never my first top three because of the location. I am a big city kid. Is DMU that great that I should still go to the interview?
its amazing that you guys are all really into dmu even with its scatttered rotation sites all over the country... the school must be that good
but what if i know for sure that even if i get into dmu, i would still probably attend azcom over dmu for the chance to rotate in LA area?
DMU has Cali rotation sites

No they don't
I didn't say Core rotations. The dean told us that they have affiliated rotation sites in California for 4th year that you have the option to set up. He said you could even stay there for the whole 4th year.

Eh, that probably just means in the past students have gone to California. Fourth year is really build your own schedule so you can go anywhere.
So what you're saying is that DMU is a bad idea if I want to come back to California for residency?

As for 4th year in CA, you can certainly do it, but you will have to set all that stuff up yourself.
Any school that doesn't have a relationship with oos and especially out-of-region hospitals will put you at a disadvantage.

Lived in Iowa my whole life. Don't get what you're referring to.gosh so DMU is that great huh.... but what about the fact that you have to drive alot for rotations sites and the city being, you know, Iowa?
You know that's false. 4th year (and sometimes 1-2 rotations in 3rd year) will be your time to pursue away rotations anywhere you want. You might have to set them up yourself (hey DO students, can you use VSAS now for aways?), but that's your time to impress the programs you'd like to attend.
Heck, I just saw a WesternU student rotating up here with us in good ol' Albany, NY.
why does everyone think that des moines is a rural village with 700-800 people? We have a symphony, an auditorium for broadway shows, a botanical center, a science center, an active downtown, a couple sports teams, and much more. it is a city of 500,000.
my big fear is the snow

why? are you allergic to it? it isn't like the snow comes down and instantly makes the streets icy and the entire city sits around and thinks "well what are we going to do about this earl?" "I don't know. All i know is corn, and if it isn't corn, by golly i don't know."
this pretty well describes my response to snow.. because it is harder to drive, some cities dont do a good job clearing roads, sidewalks not cleared for running in the morning, it gets my precious feet wet... i dont know. it scared me more at erie where classes were mandatory
I would say this is somewhat a stretch. It freaks me out still how quiet it is on weeknight at like 6 PM though I do enjoy having free parking most of the time.

I loved the school. Yes it was as amazing as ccom but I have to say my heart is with ccom. Also I can't see myself living there. I am a big city kid. I went to undergrad at a small school in a small town and I hated it. If I get alot of scholarship or something I will definitely attend.

about 20k a year cheaper! which over 4 years and with interest is more like 100+ k! yikes
but you have to live in Des Moine
And that's a problem......... how??
not a problem for everyone obviously... if i was white, married with kids, I would be very very happy there. just that i am a minority in every deviant sexual way possible and it is much better for my kind to be close to a big city and be close to authentic ethnic food
