Got accepted to Minnesota already, but just received an interview invite to Lecom, only reason I'm considering going to interview because of tuition is less than Minnesota.. I'm OOS at both schools... Should I drop the money and fly to Florida? Or is Lecom's cheaper tuition not worth it vs Minnesota...

Only go if you are strongly considering going there over Minnesota. Realistically if you don't see yourself going there it isn't worth the money.

I'm just trying to see if the 60K tuition difference is worth PBL and uncertain patient pool... Leaning towards not going though...

I doubt that there is a 60K tuition difference. I think they end up pretty close if you consider books and other school fees.

And lecom incorporates PBL?

Want to have 50% of being relocated in your 3rd year?

According to the dean, there's actually a 100% chance of being relocated your fourth year. Third year students have their own chairs in the clinic on campus, which is why fourth years will get sent out... No room.

And lecom incorporates PBL?

Yes, the fundamental sciences courses are incorporated in the first two years, while in groups of 10 with a faculty "facilitator".

LECOM relocates you? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

Yah... and I heard it's too a very rural location where you will be strictly dealing with underserved populations.
Go to Minnesota. Way too many drawbacks at Lecom.

I actually thought that it was a plus. Even though moving 4th year would suck, you get the clinical experience equivalent to that of a GPR/AEGD. It is completely student run and you get to do work with underserved (that might be just a plus to me because I want to work in public health before private practice) but you can't knock the potential clinical experience. It was definitely one of LECOM's selling points instead of drawbacks to me.
