OK folks, here's my question: I have an interview at MCW scheduled for 4/19. I have yet to find a plane ticket to Milwaukee for under $300 (from CA). As some of you may already know, I'm already accepted to Ohio State and Cincinnati. I'm also waiting to hear post-interview from MCPHU and Finch.

My question: Should I bother going on this interview? OR Does anyone know of a cheap fare to Milwaukee?

Well would you rather attend medical school there over Ohio State and Cincinnati? If not, it wouldn't make sense in going to the interview. It would just be a waste of money.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance; i may not understand the question.

i think it's fairly logical and plausible to fly to milwaukee if you have genuine interest in the school and you're undecided as to where you want to be (OSms and Cinc).

assuming your interview would be the first or second time on campus, i think 300 dollars pales in comparison to determining whether this place would be the "right fit" for you. however, im assuming you have equal interest in all three schools.

unless you have pressing financial issues, i say you should go in a heartbeat...but that of course is none of my business 😀

It may be a bit expensive to fly into Milwaukee. Try flying into Chicago and then taking amtrak up to Milwaukee, if you really want to go. HOwever, I believe that at this point, you're looking at at best a waitlist position at MCW. If I were you, I wouldn't bother, unless you have some absolutely dire reason to live in Milwaukee. I interviewed at both OSU and MCW and while I withdrew from OSU, I think that OSU is as good as MCW in terms of reputation and you can get in-state residency after first year. (I withdrew because I cannot get in-state residency cuz I am Canadian.)

I agree with moo, you should only interview if you really think that you might want to go there. Otherwise you will be wasting time, money and an interview spot for someone else. Also, you will likely only get waitlists at this point, which will only complicate your life.

btw, how was the interview at finch? you are being considered for that scholarship right? I ended up not going, decided for sure to got to USUHS. go army!
