Hello Everyone,

So I can graduate this semester with a bachelors in chemistry and will be applying this June. However, the top school on my list, UMKC, requires cell biology. I'm almost at 160 credits after this semester so I won't be getting any financial aid even if I don't graduate.

Does it really give me any edge to have a degree on hand before I apply or should I save the 60$ reapplication fee to apply for an extra semester at my college.

Stats before this semesters grades (most likely 4.0 semester)

oGPA 3.48, sGPA 3.57, BCP GPA 3.75
AA 20, TS 20, PAT 23, RC 22.

Thank you.

I would go ahead and graduate. For me, I was missing anatomy and only one school I applied to required it. I didn't even list it as a planned course on AADSAS because I didn't want to commit to it if I didn't need it. Once I was accepted to MWU-AZ, I just emailed them and told them that I will have it completed before the deadline. Of course, YMMV so I would double check with UMKC and see what they recommend.

Graduate, list it as a planned course. If you get into UMKC, take it as a post-bac class or take it online. If you get in somewhere else and it's not required, let them know your plans have changed and you won't be able to take the class. I doubt with 160 credits any other school's acceptance will be contingent upon your completion of that class.
Good luck!
