Hi,

If I volunteered between 2014-2016 for 96 hours when I was in highschool at my local hospital and then had to stop because I left my hometown to start university...

But then volunteered again at the same hospital when I was back home in the summer of 2018 for an additional 25 hours. Can I include all hours to my ECs?

I am very attached to this hospital and feel a sense of allegiance to it, and I feel like only putting the 25 hours in my app doesn't really paint the whole picture behind this experience. I would have volunteered more consistently but I was usually taking classes in my university town over the summers.

What do you think?
There are two answers:
1) You should list your hours but keep your high school hours different from your post-high school hours.
2) Many schools I know will only count your post-high school hours whether or not you include them. Hence, point #1.

Gotcha, thank you.

Including the High School hours was less to rack up hours and more to offer some context and show commitment...

I'm volunteering at another hospital right now but I wanted to show the full story at the other hospital without having the 25 hours post HS randomly stand out on their own.
Just include the hours you accumulated in college. You can talk about your experience at the hospital on secondaries/interviews.
