Hi all,
So im almost ready to send out my application. My letters consist of a committee letter, one from my PI, one from my mentor in the lab (post-doc), and one from a science teacher that I really like.
My problem is that i do not have a lot of clinical experience. Im taking an EMT course right now and doing some E.R. rotations as well as ambulance rides. Ive done about 20 hours of shadowing, i have about 150 hours of non clinical volunteering. A friend of the family, who owns an ambulance company, has offered to write me a letter about my work ethic and his plan to hire me as an EMT after the completion of my course.
Is this letter worth adding into my packet? I know that what i PLAN to do doesnt really matter to med schools, it matters what ive already done. But i still feel that this may help with my low clinical hours by showing the clinical work i will be doing. Any thoughts? Thanks!
