Should I just give up?

Is it too late to withdraw? If you can withdraw then do it and get a W on the transcript. Retake it in the summer, then right after retaking it write the DAT so its fresh in your memory and enroll into a masters program this september. Don't give up

Hey there, thank you for the reply. I have till April 3rd to withdraw the course. I'm going to talk to my professor tomorrow first, then decide what I'm going to do from there. The other option would be to stick it out and get a C+?

I second the advice above. I would withdraw if it is still possible. You really need to do everything in your power to get straight As, especially with a low undergrad GPA.
Are your parents able to help you out financially so that you can focus fully on school?

If you can withdraw, do so. If not, do your best to get a passing grade (C or above). As long as you do well on upper-division courses, a C is not a deal-breaker.

Why are you in such a hurry to apply? Have you taken Biochem, Micro, etc.? Your GPA is still a bit low and it doesn't seem like you have a strong upward trend. Applying would be a waste unless you can do extremely well on the DAT and the rest of the application is extraordinary. I would just take more upper division classes (in a post-bac or masters) and apply next year.

If I were you, I would meet with your professor and see if there is anyway for you to realistically get a B in the class. You mentioned above that you might get a C+, and I don't think that will do much except bring your GPA down even more, I would take a W instead. Second, I don't think it makes any sense for you to be studying for the DAT without being done with the pre-reqs for it. The more science you have, the stronger background you have before studying for the DAT, the better you will do on the DAT. I feel like you have a lot on your plate right now.

I don't think you will be able to get into dental school with a gpa of 2.9, what is your science gpa? You would be wasting money applying for dental school if you don't have competitive stats. I would postpone the DAT to august, take the summer to study while working jobs. Apply for a masters program to bring up the GPA and apply for dental school the year after. Again this is what I would do! Good luck and don't give up if you are really passionate about dentistry.
