I have received II from three DO schools so far, but I still have some secondaries need to write. Do I need to send additional secondaries?

NYIT
KCOM
CCOM
PCOM
PCOM-Ga
MSU

Need to write for
Western
KCU
RUV
Touro-CA
VCOM
ACOM
BCOM

I want to submit for western b/c I am from SoCal. But how about other schools?
My stats and ECs are average, 3.5-3.6, 31, shadow, research, volunteering, publication etc.

honestly, probably not but I suppose you cant be too safe (im sure you already know that though)

Are you confident you're going to ace the interviews? I wouldn't assume that three IIs equates to an acceptance.

Well, where do you want to go? Your numbers look good for the majority of the schools you have completed a secondary at. If you're just trying to get in "somewhere", I would say your chances of doing so are very good.

I don't see why you wouldn't put in the few hours of work per secondary to finish up your applications, though... unless you're really not interested in any of those schools besides Western.

+1 on this, If there are schools you would rather go to than the ones you have II to, then submit the secondary. If not you are probably solid.

$25-$50/secondary is a LOT cheaper than a second cycle-- while it's probably not necessary, you might as well keep going until you have an acceptance in hand. If you want to stay on the west side of the country, maybe prioritize Western, Touro, RVU, and KCU (and BCOM if you're okay with new schools).

You never know...put in the time if you have it. Maybe eliminate a couple of those schools...your stats are great though, but I wouldn't turn anything down without an acceptance in hand.

No idea why you think having a 31 or a research publication is an average DO applicant characteristic. Because....it's not. At all. You've got great chances everywhere. The obvious answer is to finish secondaries at the places you like best if you don't have the time to do them all, or to do them all if you really truly have the time and the opportunity cost of doing them is not greater than the potential benefit of possibility getting into one or greater of those schools.

I'm in a similar boat, I have quite a few II and stopped filling out secondaries for low yield MD schools due to costs and locations. I'm betting with your stats, you'll have a few more II so pick the schools you really want to go to. If you only only completed at the 10 above though, Id apply to a few more but I like choices and get paranoid as nothing is guaranteed. I stopped at 25 completed secondaries. You can always turn down interviews.

I can't say I will ace the interview, that's why I ask.

My top choice is actually msu(DO,PhD). But I still want to keep my options open for other DO schools. Honestly, I have no idea about where I want to go, all I want is good education. Location and other factors are not priorities for me.

Nice. That makes sense with your research/pub(s), which are almost nonexistent in most apps.

Call me crazy but I have faith that every accredited DO school is going to be able to provide you with that. At that point, it really is about personal preferences if you get into more than one.

Now I have to add MSU into the II list as it just came out this morning. My entire late Aug to early Sep schedule is packed with interviews in the past week. I guess I will do western secondaries and hold on for the other schools.
