Hi! So I would really really appreciate if people would give me their opinions on what to do.
MCAT- 32 ( I feel like this is average and won't really make me stand out)
cGPA- 3.7
sGPA- 3.5
I have good LOC I think, I was on the boards for 2 clubs during college, have 4000+ hours of shadowing and volunteering in hospital settings.
The problem is that I failed Orgo. I took it once and I was having major health issues at the time, so I got a D. I retook it and only got a B. Orgo was just a subject that didn't click for me. So those are my GPAs without grade replacement, so my osteopathic GPA will obviously be higher. My question is A) Do those orgo grades make me look very bad and B) DO or MD?
Thanks!

As far as standing out, I think your ECs, personal statement, and LORs will outweigh the importance of your GPA/MCAT.

I would apply to MD

Apply to MD schools. Your mcat score is above the national median for accepted applicants. Sounds like you have solid clinical/volunteer experience as well.

Also, buy (and use) the MSAR.

Had ballpark stats to yours: 88th percentile MCAT, ~3.8cGPA and slightly lower sGPA; received 5 MD II. Granted I did not get a D in orgo, I did have an IA for underage drinking. Pick your poison. You will be fine! Best of luck, OP.

Apply broadly to MD and you have a decent chance. If you wish to apply DO too as a safety then throw in 3-5 DO schools that you really could see yourself going to. I would suggest DMU, PCOM, KCOM, and maybe like CCOM if you can stomach the tuition.

Thanks everyone!! And AnatomyGrey12- I was planning on applying to the 2 DO schools in Texas (cheap tuition lol) and a few neighboring states.
Also, kind of off topic: I always see people posting that they don't recommend LUCOM; do you know why that is?

While there are many successful religious institutions LUCOM is not one of them. Basically just do a search and you should see the details.

I'm not a Christian, but shouldn't religious schools expect adherence to their mission statements? Sorry if that's not what you meant, but I couldn't find anything. I wasn't going to apply there, I was just wondering!

Isn't TCOM the only DO in Texas?

University of the Incarnate Word is opening up one this year!

They wouldn't be a state-supported institution actually, so tuition would be almost double everywhere else in Texas

Religious institutions do have a right to expect adherence to whatever honor code they have. Loma Linda comes to mind, because they have a list of don'ts. LUCOM is honestly just a joke of a school and the religion factor is very extreme there. They are in their own little class.

By and large though non-Christians have had good experiences at other religious universities such as CUSOM, MUCOM and Loma Linda. I don't think the first two have lists of things you can or cannot do.

Also I agree with the above that TCOM is the only Texas DO school applying to. Incarnate Word will not have low tuition like the rest of Texas. Also you can do much better than a brand new school.

I recommend the following:

St. Louis
Albany
Rochester
Rush (note: very service/experience oriented with a 150hr service requirement. Avg student has 800 hours of community service, and >1800 hours of health care exposure.)
Rosy Franklin
NYMC
MCW
VCU
EVMS
Wake Forest
Jefferson
Temple
Drexel
Creighton
Tulane
Loyola
Any new MD school, except Hofstra and Central MI, FIU, FAU and UCF. I can't recommend CNU.
Any DO program.
Your state school.
