Hello,
As of write now I've booked my exam for September 30th (Eligibility period is Sept. 1st - Nov. 30th), and I've got half a mind to move it up (by about 2 weeks) so that I sit for it as soon as I finish UWorld with about 2 weeks to do UWSA and NBMEs and revise my incorrect questions +/- marked in UWorld.
I am an IMG. Recently graduated (June) and sitting Step 2 before Step 1.
Everyone recommended MTB2 + 3 combination so I bought them. They're collecting dust after I read up to the Neuro/Nephro section. It's not my thing and I had read Medstudy IM in my final year so MTB was a bit lacking for me.
Tried to look at the Peds section (again wasn't that fond of it). I had gone through Case Files a few times during my rotation and basically it's metabolic diseases where I'm a bit iffy.
OB-GYN, had read Blueprints so MTB was really lacking in comparison.
Tried to read FA for Step 2 CK. Went through 100 pages and then decided I'll look over it the days before my test for a few items but nothing else.
I did ~70% of Kaplan Qbank by subject last month. (Basically everything except Neuro,EM and Peds). Ended up with a 74%.
Started with UWorld a week ago and first 10 blocks (timed random) overall correct is 84%. So I'm feeling rather confident.
The original plan was to take notes of all of UWorld but I'm a bit OCPD so I stopped else I would still be doing UWorld for another 3 months, so I'm sticking with the highlighting.
My question is... if my self assessments are consistently around my target score is it safe to go for for the exam even if I feel like there are areas where I could do with touching up? Is it also OK to not have read one of these source books or to not have any notes written down?
Also is it OK if there are answers where you are only 80-90% sure of the right answer?
Sorry for the long rant...bit stressed out.
