Hello,

I saw on the forum that some people received rejection letter from Boston before received the email asking for application fee. I haven't received rejection letter yet, so should I go ahead and pay the school now? Or wait later? Thanks

i did not apply to BU, but i have the same concern about other schools too.

For most, that rejection letter is from last cycle, so that shouldn't worry you.

Still, BU sends out emails to its applicants to submit an application fee. The email includes a link to make an online payment. I wouldn't pay the application fee until you receive this notification from the school.

I just got mine yesterday, so they should be going out soon.

although no smart person wants to throw away money....we're not talking about spending tens of thousands (which you will eventually spend at any school you do attend) to pay the application. I would just pay the $50 fee or whatever it is so you stay in the running unless you feel like you are already assured a spot at another school.

Its a 65 fee for US citizens. And I would definitely send it in. Boston interviewed a lot of people last year. I got a similar rejection letter before I sent my fee in this year. I called them, they told me the rejection was from last year and they havent had an in depth look at this years files yet. 2 days later I got the e-mail to send my fee in.

Also, last year i didnt wait for the e-mail. i just sent my fee by check when I submitted my AADSAS. BIG MISTAKE. I got a letter from them very late in the cycle that they had not yet received my application fee. I called them and told them I had proof that the check had been cashed. They denied it and lots of "he said she said" ensued. Eventually, they found my check but by then it was very late in the cycle and they basically said it was my own fault for not properly following instructions and sending in the fee prematurely (which is true). So WAIT FOR THE EMAIL is my definite lesson here. And a $65 fee for the chance to get into dental school is a good deal in the long run. You don't want to always wonder "What if i'd sent that check in?"
