Hey all,

I'm scheduled to take Step 3 in a couple of days here. I should have studied more, but got caught up in some other pressing (and much more fun) things in life.

At this point I've only done about half of USMLEworld (averaging 50-60%), and I've read through a couple 2-3 chapters in FA.

I just started to orient myself to the CCS portion of the test yesterday. It's now this part that I'm really worried about.

I feel I haven't taken this test seriously at all. I did well on Step I (> 245), studied half-time for about 2 weeks for Step II and did fine again (> 240), but I feel I'm getting rocked by USMLEworld so far. Maybe the "two months, two weeks, two pencils" mantra is out-dated?

I'm going into ophtho and am in a pretty cush Transitional Year now, so I don't have a ton of primary care / clinical experience for a PGY-1.

Your thoughts?

I know what yo u mean. I am getting ready for mine, after doing psych, and havent done medicine or studying in a while, and am getting
40 to 53 %.. so far.. i have heard different htings from these forums. some people average UW in the mid 50s to mid 60s and have gotten very good scores on the real exam. but i have also heard of people failing or barely passing with these scores. Which is attributed to the CCS portion which is now estimated to be around 30 percent of the grade.
i dont know. based on your prior scores, you should pass easily and score high.. but i guess the NBME and CCS together can predict better scores..
good luck
