If the MCAT is taken on the computer, shouldn't I be practice reading passages on the computer rather than on paper ...? Especially for verbal / passages? How does highlighting work on the actual test?

Practice on the computer if you must do one or the other. If you can do both then do both. Working on the computer, especially with the sample tests sold off of the official site will really help you prepare for the test. You will have some adaptive body memory working for you and won't be fumbling with hardware when you sit the test.

For the verbal on the test, are there highlight options and such? Will I have scratch paper?

All the scratch paper you need for the test will be given pre-exam at the center. Yes there is a highlight option for the passage. If you have done the AAMC exams, they exactly reflect how the real mcat is. The only exception is that there is no search box (so don't use it during your practice exams).

I am trying to do both. On the web I have this http://www.mcatquestionaday.com/, on paper I have a sample of MCAT exam and I have a book MCAT edition REA, year 1990 lol but that looks fine to start with...better than nothing. For the VR section, I admit that a paper version is better...but if you have to do it online than take a paper and pen, read the questions first, read the text next and then write your answer on the paper before a verification in the text . I say write your answer....it can be key words instead. Hope it helps!
