Hi guys. Okay so currently im scheduled to take my test on Aug 8th..but im starting to freak out about whether or not i'm ready...This is what I've done so far, lemme know if u think i should change the date:

1. Read Kaplan Dat 2008-2009 edition Biology, Gen Chem, QR, Reading Comp, PAT and parts of Organic and took notes (more like manually transcribed) each section.

2. Read Princeton Review's Cracking AP Bio and added details to my Kaplan notes.

3. Read BArrons DAT review for PAT and used there strategies to do some practice problems.

I have the DAT destroyer, which I plan on going through atleast twice. And I have the Kaplan subject tests from the course which I also plan on going through. Also, I might buy Topscore 2weeks before my test and go through that as well.

This might be helpful or irrelevant: I have a 3.88GPA, got A and A- in organic 1 and 2 respectively. A's in gen chems and all the bio courses i've taken so far including biochemistry.

Any advice would be helpful. 🙂

Honestly I don't think you need to move it back, if you faithfully study for 5-6 hours every day, with let's say 1 day off for yourself, you will see that in 2-3 weeks you will feel much better about this whole thing. Than you will need another 2 weeks to "solidify" everything and brush up your weak areas (to find out which use TopS.)
Just stick to the plan, if you have already taken all the courses needed you should really have no problem.

you got 3.88gpa, I think you'd do fine

HI, it seems like you're freaking like me as well...
You might think "who is this person giving me advise for???" since you're in much better shape than I am (GPA-wise, Time-wise)..
But if giving my opinion will help you in any way, why not, right?
From my experience that I've had for last few weeks studying hardcore for DAT,
I've been studying books for like 3 weeks prior to start taking test--which I think was a little too much time spent on going over materials.

Do a practice DAT to see which area you're weak at.. (for me acid-base, solution etc..) and trying to focus on your weak spots, going over questions you got wrong etc.. that way you know you're on your way to completing your knowledge..
only regret I have is the fact that I was planning on taking 6 practice tests (DAT achiever, Topscore, Kaplan etc..) in 10 days, which now I know is quite difficult to do, so as a result, I was feeling rushed to complete all the tests and review/understand answers... I don't know if you read the thread I posted, but many people gave me advises to push my DAT back so I can prepare myself better.

In your case, I think you still have a good solid 4 weeks to study for it and considering the fact you did good all your preparation classes (orchem bio etc..)
you'll be ready by August.

Good luck! 🙂

FACT: Studying and stressing too much can kill you.

You have a high gpa, which gives you leeway on your DAT scores and did well in all the prereq classes of the DAT, a month is plenty of time to study.

dude~ mine is on August 1st, u got 7 more days than me, and I am freaking out, LOL.

is this true? if your gpa is really high like 3.95 then do you have more leeway for your dat scores? or is it just the opposite where theyll just assume your school was really easy if you do only average on your dat?

Having a high G.P.A will not excuse a poor performance on D.A.T.

The reason could be due to many things. Adcom might think you don't do well on comprehensive tests. Also, you're putting validity of your G.P.A and your institution at jeopardy.
