I am a re-applicant this year and I am debating if I should re-take the DAT. My AA was 19, PA 17.

Out of all the schools I applied to their response was always "we liked your application, you were considered for an interview, but your application was late" (my application didn't actually get to schools till September)

I'm wondering if I should re-take the DAT to try and get a better score? I wouldn't be able to take the DAT till at least July so my application might be a little later in the cycle again; though not as late as this last cycle.

Or if I should just stick with my scores as apply as early as June?

Any thoughts?

It may sound obvious, but if you know you can do better retake it.

If you do not know and are really unsure, one way you can get around this is to apply early and if you do not get an acceptance the first week of December then immediately retake it. That way you can update schools in early December with your new scores. If you score lower....then it didn't hurt you much since you did not get an acceptance with your old scores anyway.

Do what you think you will feel most comfortable with.

Retake it, it will help you sleep better at night.

If you can retake it, do it. But retaking the DAT in July has no bearings on applying. You need to submit that app early, and you can do that even if you haven't taken your DAT.
