Hello,
I need help on deciding whether to retake the DAT!!
These are my credentials:
cgpa: 3.1
Science gps: 3.3
Bio: 19
Ochem: 21
Gen Chem: 19
PAT: 19
RC: 21
QR: 15
AA/TS/PA: 19/19/19

I understand that I wont get in with these scores because my GPA sucks and the scores are whatever, but I am currently signed up to do a 1 year masters in bio and if I were to get lets say a 3.8 in the masters would I most likely get in somewhere when I reapply????

I think you may have to. Your QR is very low. You want to try to have each section above an 18 if possible. QR section of DAT Destroyer, and the Math Destroyer would be some good resources to look into. Good luck!

All of your scores but your QR look very good. I would try the ARCO GRE/GMAT math review, that's all I used and scored a 19 on that section for the QR section. But maybe if you bring up that GPA, your DAT scores will be fine. Just that many schools have an automatic cutoff, like if you score anywhere below a 16 or something in any section they won't even consider you.🙁

I say for sure do a retake. With your GPA now you should aim for at least 22AA.

But if you do get at least 3.8 overall for your masters then aiming to get at least a 20AA would be acceptable for you.

If you can do well in your master, you may not need a retake. However, I'd retake anyways to up your chances. Good luck!

I'd retake. I have a mediocre GPA as well and got a 19AA on my first try. I just retook it and got a 22A. It's doable, just a lot of focus and motivation on your part.

you DONT need to retake. QR matters least, your DAT is OK, but RC is pretty good(highly valued stat). The gpa that matters= BCP. put your energy into increasing that. if you took most upper level bios already in undergrad, a 1 year masters is a good plan. if you still have upper level bios left you can take, go to your state school and take some there.(at the undergrad level). apply broadly.

Focus on raising that BCP gpa.

For your QR yes. The rest looks good if you do well in masters
