Hello. I took my DAT in July and got:

Bio 21
Chem 22
OC 19
RC 19
QR 18
PAT 16
AA 20
TS 20

My overall gpa is 3.91 and science is 3.89. I have about 80 hours of shadowing/volunteering. My PAT score is so low and I'm debating on whether I should re-take the DAT. I already submitted my Apps back in July but not all my LORS. Should I retake it in Late october ? I feel like i'm not going to be prepared to take it again and it's going to be hard studying since school started. And I'm not even guaranteed that i'm going to get better grades. I'm also going to be a late applicant. Should i just go with these scores and apply this cycle. Maybe i can study over the winter and take it in January and apply again next cycle if I don't make it this year. What do you guys think? Thanks for all your help 🙂

Many schools don't care much about PAT (even though others do) -if you are willing to cross off the schools who do care about PAT then don't retake unless you are prepared. Getting worse scores would be a really bad sign.

The way you explained the situation, I would go with these scores for this cycle and if you don't get in, then consider a retake.

No need to mess up this years school work as well as possibly not improving your scores. Also, if you have to retake it will just be later and later into the cycle.

On the other hand, your scores are solid overall, so I would think you'll get interviews. Get your letters in asap.👍
