Provided I don't get accepted this cycle, should I apply this year or next?

I'm sorry to bother you with another thread but I'm sure this will help others in my situation.

I am graduating this year with a borderline gpa and an average matriculation MCAT. I am a Canadian citizen though many schools see me as OOs. I applied uberlate (mid-late October completion) and received 4 IIs, all rejections save for one pending.

I am wondering, since I'm so borderline, whether it makes sense for me to apply super early this cycle or wait a cycle out to do an SMP and improve my grades.

Also, my fiancé is American and were moving in together this summer. Problem is, we want to live together for a bit before getting married, about a year ideally. However, if it would really help my chances, we can get married as early as this fall. This would mean I would only become PR for the Class of 2019 cycle.

Should I apply this cycle to see if applying early makes a difference, or should I wait it out until I get my SMP grades? My family is wealthy, so money is no object, but time might be.

Note that my gpa stayed the same, sadly, and I don't have that many more ECs (one editorial board position, one new publication, and one independent history of medicine research project with a prof over the summer. I also think I could get slightly better LORs this time around.

Any advice for me? Should I apply this coming cycle or wait it out until I get my SMP grades and likely PR?

Apply the year you will be most competitive.

I'm applying this year. I'd rather apply next year, but this year is when I'm peaking.

+1 to solitarius's response.

Wait 'till the next. It never hurts your chances to wait, so long as you're doing things while you're waiting. An SMP followed by a year of volunteer/research/clinical work would be great. Not only that, you'll get to spend a year with your fiancee too before marrying. (Why would you ever wanna rush either of these things? Apply to med school? MARRIAGE?)

And applying early definitely makes all the difference. When you do apply, apply early for godsake, how many times do people have to say it on these forums?

An SMP isn't the solution if you had 4 interviews. Apply earlier this cycle, and in the interim, find out what went wrong. Good luck hearing back from the fourth school!
