I have just been accepted to an international summer program (all expenses paid for 8 weeks). I don't want to say what the program is at this time, but it is on par with smdep. I need to notify them of my acceptance by next week. I will not know if I am accepted to smdep until Feb. I am a college freshman with 3 more years to apply to the international program and another year to apply to smdep. It would be nice to leave my applications in the process, so I can see if I got accepted. It may help with my program site selection next year. I am wondering if a program site will not accept me next year because I opted out the prior year. I could not find anything on the smdep site to address this issue. I could only find reference to the fact that a person can only attend once. If I am accepted, can I turn it down and re-apply the following year?
