Hey guyz i've got a little problem. I took organic chem 1 in the spring and got a "B". The professor only took your grade on the final exam and used it as the final grade. So i was failing the whole semester, being lazy and studied my butt off and aced the final to get my B. I decided to take orgo 2 this semester and was completely lost and dropped it. I honestly did not learn a single thing from organic 1. The only thing i know is nomenclature to tell u the truth. Rxn's, mechanisms and synthesis to me is like trying to read Chinese. I am considering retaking orgo 1 working my butt off and actually learn this stuff in the spring and take orgo in the summer. Is it possible to learn this stuff yourself using supplemental books? If so, should i buy some supplemental books, read and learn on my own during my own time this semester and just give orgo 2 a shot next semester? I really don't want to retake orgo 1 with a chance of having a hard professor and getting a worse grade then i got before. Some insight or past similar experiences from u guys would be greatly appreciated.
