So I just drop my 4 credit, 1xxx History class and got a W on my transcript. I was having a C in the class, and I don't think I would be able to bring the grade up to a B so I withdrew since 4 credits of C grade would significantly lower my GPA of 3.6ish. I still need to fulfill my History requirement for graduation, so I am wondering if I should retake this class or take another History class? Even if I retake the class, I think that it's still impossible to get an A so I'll probably take it Pass/Fail. What would looks better on my transcript, retaking this class Pass/Fail or just take a new class altogether? Also, how bad would this W in a non-science, non-major class affect my application in the future? My lowest grade so far was a B, and I plan to keep it that way until I graduate next year.

Take the W and move on. Multiple W's on science courses did not prevent me from getting into my top choice. One W on a non-science course is so far from the realm of a concern that it'll take you light-years to get there.

Take a class you like and can do well in. 🙂
