I am applying next year, and I am working to increase my gpa. I made a few C's in some BCPM courses, and wondered if I should retake them so I wouldn't have any C's on my app when I apply.

Any advice/suggestions are welcomed!

How many C's are we talking? And in what courses? How are the rest of your grades? I had a few C's on my transcript, and did not have a problem. But, its hard to say for you without more info.

No, don't retake them.

Avoid them in the future. Ace your remaining courses.

If your BCPM GPA is below a 3.2, consider taking extra science courses to bring it up. Show them an upward trend--don't go back over old ground. If they really bother you, do it anyway regardless of your BCPM. Consult with your pre-med advisor as well before doing anything.

Retake the course(s) only if you'll benefit from learning what you missed the first time around.

Personally, I made a "C" in General Chem II my sophomore year. I retook it before taking Organic a few years later, so that my skills would be sharp. I made an A in both Gen Chem and Orgo. I shudder to think how I would've done going into Orgo cold.

😱

General chem has nothing to do with orgo. Personally, I hated gen chem, ended up with a B and C+. I took orgo and loved it. I aced both of them.
