Hello I have a couple questions that I am struggling with with regards to my path of pre dental. I am currently a sophomore and my gpa is not great. When looking at my pre reqs for dental school I received Cs in both of my gen chem classes, a BC in my gen bio, a C in gen bio II, C in organic chem I and a D in genetics( which I am planning on retaking) I have an overall gpa of roughly a 2.9-3.0now with this semester done. I am currently working as a dental assistant and have been for over 6 months now. I am getting very worried that I am not going to get accepted into any dental schools with these grades in my science classes. Should I retake some of these classes or does that not look good on applications? Any advice on what to because I am pretty much freaking out.

Don't retake Cs. It's not worth it. Just do well from now on. Protecting your GPA should be priority over all else at this point.

agreed with sobertiger...retaking will only put you behind more credits. you have plenty of time to pull your gpa up too and you have at least a C in all the required courses so far. figure out what is not working and go from there. also do really well on the DAT and youll have significantly more options open up
