Should I retake MCAT if I already submitted everything?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Wow! That's a lot of donations, if those were MD schools.

You will be screened on the basis of your current score; schools are under no obligation to wait for the results of the retake.

If you're boning for the MD, you should retake after seeing how this cycle shakes out (assuming that some of the 41 schools you applied to you're actually competitive for) and then ONLY retake when you are 100% ready.

So, where did you apply?

any recommendations for what I should do? Do I even have a chance at any of these schools?
Don't have much experience with admissions as I'm a pre-med student atm - I'll let the ADCOM's handle that. That GPA is amazing, but the 122 MCAT subscore (and 505 overall) might hurt you. I'd continue with the cycle and if you aren't happy with where you receive an acceptance (or perhaps don't receive an acceptance at all) you can always apply next cycle. Don't rush the retake unless you are certain you are ready. If you are fine with DO schools, you could potentially receive many acceptances.

You will surely be screened by some of those schools.

No one should ever be applying to schools where they would not be happy with an acceptance. Re-trying for a better school is not an option

The retake won't hurt you. Your current score will hurt you.
Your chances are best with the FL schools. But, the schools below are all donations, I fear.
IF you speak fluent Spanish, then the PR schools that take mainlanders are in play.

Your situation illustrates the risks of merely running down the minimum stats of med schools listed in MSAR or USNWR. YOu have multiple OOS state schools that highly favor the home team.

You could've gotten a 515 and most of those state schools still wouldn't want to talk to you. Like gore said, go through MSAR and actually look at the acceptance data and not only the GPA/MCAT scores

Im just curious, is it the 122 on the CARs that is hurting her, or the overall score....

Both. Actually, I didn't read the OP carefully. That 122 will be lethal for tons of MD schools. best to check with MSAR and see if the 122 is > the school's 10th%ile.

A 505 score is six basis points below the national median.

Thank you for the advice @Goro I scheduled for sept mcat. Is it important to indicate I am retaking it on my AMCAS? I just feel like some schools where I have a slight chance could decide to not look at my application until October if I indicate I am retaking
I don't feel that it will help you to mention that you're re-taking, but I suppose that it can't hurt, esp. for the FL school.

But do NOT retake until you're 100% ready!
