Should I retake a 507? + list help

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Welcome to the forums.

For what it's worth, what you have is pretty good for a Kansas applicant (2024-2025 Kansas MCAT average applicant is 504.5; matriculant is 509.9). AAMC FACTS tables A-19 and A-20 for 2024-2025. Talk to the admissions staff at KU and the DO Kansas programs if you intend to stay in-state for medical school; if they tell you to retake the MCAT, then I would. The rest of your application looks solid.

You should receive an interview at Kansas MD school. You could also receive interviews at other MD schools and I suggest these:
Creighton
TCU
Roseman
Alice Walton
Belmont
Methodist
NOVA MD
Wake Forest
Eastern Virginia
George Washington
Drexel
Temple
Penn State
Geisinger
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
Rush
Loyola
Ponce (St. Louis)
St. Louis
Also apply to DO schools and I suggest these:
KCU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
DMU-COM
MU-COM
AZCOM
UIWSOM
CUSOM
NYITCOM
PCOM
LECOM
Touro-NY
WVSOM

Thank you both so much for your responses. My school advises a retake if the score is below a 512, so I am considering the pros and cons. If I do decide to retake, how much would I need to improve in order for it to significantly affect my application? I feel like I have a solid app otherwise, so I don't want this one aspect to be the reason I need to reapply.

You are competitive for all DO schools with a MCAT of 507. What were your practice scores before you took the test?

My last three AAMC FL scores were 511, 512, 514.

Actual test was a 507 (128/125/126/128). I was especially disappointed in my CARS since I had been consistently scoring 128-130 on all practice exams, including my diagnostic.

As @Faha and I have advised, you SHOULD get an interview at KU. Reach out to their admissions team. If THEY say you should retake your exam, then do it.
Applicants who are Kansas residents or who meet one of the above “Kansas tie” designations will be given priority review for an interview invitation. Those who have a minimum score of 502 on the MCAT and a 3.4 BCPM GPA with no red flags on the remainder of their application will be offered an interview.

The language is crystal clear. Reach out to KU. I think they host recruitment events on campus; I know they travel within Kansas to undergrad premed fairs.
