Hi all! First time here, but looking for some advice and would really appreciate any help!

A little background first. I graduated in May '18 and am planning on applying this cycle (2 gap years in total). I work in clinical research as a CRA and will be promoted to a CRC in the coming months. My experiences in this position led me to really see the lack of diversity being seen in the clinic I was recruiting from and decided to get involved in a local free health clinic and have been really enjoying working with such a myriad of people and really feeling the impact of just what a simple wellness check can do. I had a feeling that primary care is what I was interested in (especially the preventative portion) and this experience has really solidified that for me, this is something I am really trying to convey in my personal statement. According to this AACOMAS/AMCAS GPA calculator I found (hope this is accurate), my cGPA is 3.43, my sGPA without math is 3.31 and with math is 3.16 (calculus and stats my freshmen year truly murdered me, that is a story for a different day). I have an upward trend as well. I just got my MCAT scores back and got a 507 (125/127/127/128). I'm torn about retaking. I know between my GPA's and this score, I am out on MD, which I'm really okay with. But would it put me out for DO as well? I'm really shooting for UNECOM (I live in the Northeast), so if my MCAT score is going to keep me out, I can grind and retake if I have to, but I don't want to mentally put myself through that again if it isn't necessary.

Thank you for listening/your thoughts!

Where is your state of residence ? Your stats are competitive for most DO schools so apply to at least 10 and you should receive several interviews. What areas of the country are you willing to relocate to for DO school ?

I live in New England! And I'm willing to relocate anywhere for 4 years, so I plan on applying broadly, but I'm just interested in UNECOM the most because it will keep me in NE. But like I said, definitely willing to move if need be.

If you live in Vermont then apply to their MD school. For DO schools I suggest these:
UNECOM (they have a regional preference for New England applicants)
LECOM (all schools)
MU-COM
VCOM (all 3 schools)
UIWSOM
PCOM (both schools)
CCOM
KCU-COM
ATSU-KCOM

Wow thank you so much for this! It means so much! I actually live in CT so I will most likely end up applying to UConn, although I think my chances there are slim, even with the in-state bias. But I'm happy to see that someone thinks I have a chance, it really means a lot to me.
