Hello! I just got my score report from my first attempt:

QR: 520

RC: 400

BIO: 440

GC: 440

OC: 440

TS: 440

PAT: 440

AA: 450

My GPA and sGPA is around a 3.8 and I am a non-traditional applicant currently working as a high school teacher, and I want to aim to at least have a chance at schools such as UCLA and Columbia. I do feel like I could improve my score with a retake and I know these are right around average for some schools, but am not sure if it is worth it to do so especially considering I want to get my application in as soon as I can. Please advise, thank you!

After working with pre-dental students for many years, I’ve observed that dental schools often value non-traditional applicants, especially those with professional experience, like your background as a teacher. That’s definitely a positive factor. While your scores are average, you didn’t mention your GPA, which could potentially strengthen your application. I’d recommend reaching out to the schools directly to get their insights. I believe you have a chance, but ultimately, they’re the ones who can provide a definitive answer. Wishing you the best of luck!
