Hi, so I took these two classes during my freshman year: intro to nutrition and intro to ecology/evolution. I got C's in both of them unfortunately due to missing class. I was wondering if I should retake these classes to improve my science GPA since these classes are now considered science GPA in the AAMCOMAS application.

These are two classes are considered GPA booster classes at my school but my poor grade in both was due to poor attendance because of some immaturity issues freshman year.

I know I can definitely get an A in both these classes, but I was wondering if it was better to just take upper level science classes at this point. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you're applying DO just retake the classes.
If you're applying MD take more advanced science.

Well if you have a 3.6+ science gpa I see no need in retaking them honestly. The average MD MATRICULANT has a 3.6 science and a 3.7 cgpa.
