Hi everyone

First time to the board. 😀 Looking at other posts wow congrats to all those who did so extremely well on their DAT. I took the DAT today and wondering if i should retake it.

GPA 3.446

DAT
Academic Average 19
Perceptual Ability 19
Quantitative Reasoning 20
Reading Comprehension 19
Biology 18
General Chemistry 18
Organic Chemistry 21
Total Scienece 19

My experience with the DAT:
Didn't do as well as others on the board but i'll share my opinion on the test prep material i used. I used Kaplan and Topscore.
Bio/Chem/OChem - not to different from Kaplan and Topscore maybe a little bit easier in terms of how specific they get into different topics.
Quantitative Reasoning - very similar to Topscore.
Reading Comprehnsion - Topscore's questions are phrased with the exact same words as you would find in the text. The DAT questions were not that caught me a bit off guard on the exam.
Perceptual Ability - The actual DAT has a few more of those difficult questions overall then Kaplan and Topscore practice tests.

Dude - your DAT scores are awesome. Consistently good in every section. Your GPA is solid too. You'll probably get in almost anywhere you want as long as you've got observation time and outside interests. Congrats! Where are you going to apply?

Although you did not get really high marks, consistancy is good and with your GPA you are a sure thing for admission. Do not get to confident and apply to only one school that would be foolish. I would suggest 7-10 schools.

Thanks for the feedback Clutch and Thaxil. Clutch i got a few schools i want to apply to but my first choice is UF.

I'm sortof in the same boat. Here's my first (and likely only) DAT scores from
mid-march:

AA: 19
TS: 18
PAT:17
Bio: 17
Chem: 20
Orgo: 17
Quant: 19
RC: 24

Personally, I'm not going to take the DAT again unless an AdCom specifies
my scores as problematic. Even then I'll likely wait until I hear comments
from other AdComs. Like was previously mentioned, scores like these are
consistent and should get you in the door so that your sparkling personality
can shine (that's what I'm banking on)!
