It feels like I have an ingrown fingernail and I just want to grab the clippers, douce them in alcohol, and cut it out myself. However, the skin right where it hurts is kind of green. Should I hold off hacking it myself and go see a doc? Or am I just being paranoid (stupid microbiology class I'm taking is making me paranoid)? I don't want the hassle of going in and bothering my doc for something stupid like an ingrown fingernail.

If you think you should see a doc go ... none of these people are doctors. Green isn't good ... ingrown nails aren't stupid ... get it taken care of. Had a friend with nerve damage from a "stupid" ingrown nail b/c he didn't take care of it.

Go see your doc. And in any case, "physician heal thyself" is always a bad proposition.

5 Most expensive words of all time- "Maybe it will go away".

Hope you don't have a microbio lab. Otherwise, who knows what could be growing under there?

Keep us posted.
