Had an interview at BU in September didn't get any update on Dec 1st.

Should I send an email requesting to know what is going on?

I hope that's sarcasm. A lot of schools don't give out status updates over the phone. The most they can tell you is if your application is complete. OP, you'll just have to be patient.
