I am familiar with EDP and how it works. I have had my eye on one school for a few years, and I had always been prepared to apply EDP until a few months ago. I will explain below.

My stats-

Chemistry and Math double major
GPA: 3.98
MCAT: 38O

I have strong clinical and volunteer experience along with modest research experience.

I was confident about my application and EDP until an isolated incident occurred a few months ago which resulted in two misdemeanor convictions - MIC (minor in consumption of alcohol) and Public Intoxication. I felt and still do feel extremely stupid and embarrassed, but I still feel I have a decent shot to get into medical school.

The question is: should I still apply EDP to the school that I really want to attend, or is there really no shot at EDP with the misdemeanors?

Any thoughts are welcome

Those stats without misdemeanor: yes, with misdemeanor: no

Disclaimer: in my opinion, and when I say yes I mean I would, and when I say no I mean I wouldn't. Just my opinion. Because EDP is already a broken system for the most part anyways.

I think I'd skip the EDP with the misdemeanor. Even in the best of circumstances, it seems risky to me. I almost went that route with my state school, but decided not to. And I don't have a record. You have good stats, though. I think you should apply RD (and to some other lower tier places) and just make sure this school knows they are your absolute top choice.

WAIT!! Don't leave yet. Tell us the name of the school.

Yep, apply broadly and you should have some luck. Be prepared to explain your misdemeanor though
