Hello everyone, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. A school I've applied to is not considering the AP credit posted on my transcript as official credits and wants me to have the CollegeBoard send them to them directly (never thought I'd have to deal with them ever again haha). I contacted the CollegeBoard and since my score is over 4 years old it's archived, and it would take them at the very least 8 weeks to send the score, which would end up being mid-October to early-November when the school would consider my application complete. I have not had this issue with any of the 11 other schools I applied to, and was wondering if the extra $25 fee for requesting that AP score would be worth it at this point. The credits are for an English Composition pre-req.

Yeah I mean if you already done the legwork to figure out what you need to do and if all it takes is $25 more to complete your app go ahead and do it. If the school is reasonable, and they like you, they’ll still extend you an interview invitation at some point.

This happened with me too. I went ahead and just sent the AP scores but also put on AADSAS that I'll be taking the classes the AP credit covers in the upcoming year so that a) they don't have to wait until my scores get in before viewing my application since it's technically a future class on the app b) I can have peace of mind knowing that if something is wrong with the AP credit, I can always using the college credit (my pre-health advisor told me a couple of schools don't really consider APs). I would go ahead and send them if I were in your shoes. Best of luck!

I’d just tell them you plan on taking it in the spring and make them consider your app complete, then if anything comes from that school you know you’ll need to get that score to them, otherwise I’d forget about them
