Since last semester, I started doing research through 4 credit course. I worked at the lab ~12 hrs every week. It took so much time. I got 3.8 GPA last semester, and I truly believe that I could have gotten 4.0 GPA if I didn't do research. Even though research course counts toward GPA, I couldn't focus on other classes because I didn't have enough time or was so tired when I got home after research.

My question is, should I stop doing research for better GPA? When I first decided to do research, I thought it would help my resume since I don't hold any leadership positions.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

A 3.8 is awesome!! I'd continue doing research, it does look good on your resume/application and will appeal to schools that are research oriented and will help you should you decide to specialize in the future!
I do research too and I know how much time it can eat out of your life lol. I'd continue it though! It will help plus you can get an LOR from your PI 🙂
