need some advice..not sure if i want to go prepharm. I know its going to be hard but i am still very reluctant whether or not i want to go through all the way. I kno it is worth the work. Is it as hard as people say it is? What kind of work is it likeand what is the curriculum like?

Well, it's heavily science saturated. Certainly, it would help if you have a logical science-oriented mind set.

If you realize that you will have to study and put forth a strong effort, it isn't that hard.

Agree but partially. Sometimes science is mindnumbing but if you are determined and want it really badly it is possible even without it.

I'm sure you've heard of the great things you can do with a PharmD. I think the profession has been picking up in popularity and will earn a higher level of respect (and pay) in the near future.

Yes, it involves a lot of studying and it does help if you're a science-oriented person, but I believe anyone who works hard enough can make it. I myself am not extremely confident in the sciences, but my determination to take part in the career will help me get there. And for the record...I've heard that there isn't as much chemistry in pharm school as many people would lead you to believe.

Volunteer or work at a pharmacy to see if you like it. Ask some pharmacists about their job and see what it's all about.

only if all else fails... :meanie:

or if you like subjecting yourself to prison... eh... living in the library

Maybe you're reluctant for a reason. Getting a PharmD is hard work and it's a process that requires years of commitment. There's a lot of bullsh*t and frustration involved and also a lot of personal reward. I'm sure it'll be worth it to me in the end. Only you can decide if it's worth it to you.

Most schools publish their curricula online. I'd recommend starting your research there.
