Should I take a Kaplan Course?

I took it and thought the class wasn't worth it. If you do buy the course, just do the practice tests and quizzes, and use other materials. The class is a huge waste of time. If I could go back I would have not done the class b/c of it price, and the PAT section is not representative at all of the DAT. In summary, I think the money would be best spent on CDDAT and Chads Videos, along with all the other usual materials.

i agree w/ telemonster. i just drop the kaplan class two weeks ago after attending a few sessions. in my opinion its very over price study session, for 1400 dollars.

Don't take the course. Spend the money you'd spend on it on other prep materials and go through them with great vigor. If you want to buy something kaplan, you can buy their test bank for 300 bucks or something (but even that is way overpriced).

Stick to tried and true materials like Chad's, Destroyer, TopScore, Cliffs and Crack DAT PAT. If you need extra practice for any particular section, check out DAT breakdowns to see what helped people the most.

I had sort of the same question a few weeks ago because I had paid for the course On-site and they wanted me to either travel far for it or do it online. Many helpful people advised me to get the money back. I researched a lot about it and the consensus was that Kaplan is only good for basics but not most questions on the DAT. At the end I decided to get my money back and now I have room to purchase many resources that have been proven on this forum to lead to successful scores. I think I made a good decision with the great help of awesome advice from this forum. I would advice you the same...

I took my DAT today and I'm glad to say I'm finished with it, lol. I took the Kaplan OnDemand online course, along with Chads videos, Dat Destroyer, Cliffs AP Bio, and Crack DAT PAT. I found Chads Vids, Crack DAT PAT, and Destroyer to be the most helpful. The Kaplan course was good for all the practice tests and questions, but the actual lectures were very basic and not very detailed. If you do choose Kaplan, definitely supplement it with something (Chads, cliffs, destroyer, etc) especially the PAT section... All in all, I thought Kaplan was overpriced for how I used the material, but I'm not sorry i purchased it. But if money is a major concern, as mentioned in other posts, stick with the tried and true methods.

I took the Kaplan online course. In my opinion, it was very very basic stuff. You can just get the study material yourself and study it on your own.
