Ok, I am currently attending a local community college in NJ and am enrolled in this one computer class that I needto complete in order to receive my associate degree. Months ago I spoke to my counselor to discuss what classes I would need to get an associate degree. He told me that everyone needs to complete this one "computer class" regardless of what degree is being pursued. However, he told me that there was this new rule that there are other courses that could substitute for that "computer class" and that he has to submit a request form to the dean. So I found out that I already took that course that could substitute the computer class so he sent in the approval form. A few months went by and I did not hear back anything nor been told about the status of the request form so I decided to register for that "computer class". I am now almost halfway through the semester and last week I checked on progress toward my degree status and I found out that they had approved the form😡. I did NOT even know It would show up there.

I am currently doing well in that computer class but I was wondering if I should drop it since I already got credit for it. But I believe I will receive a W if i do decide to drop it.

I am going to ask my counselor and see if I can drop it without a W.

if your doing well in the class, why drop it? Even if there is no W involved, its still a high mark (assuming A-?), I'd welcome any high mark into my GPA.

whats this "computer class" you speak of? Please don't tell me C++ or Java

LOL it is actually 10 time easier than that. Information literacy( MS word, excel, powerpoint, and other basic stuff)
I just don't feel like doing the extra unnecessary work If I don't need to.:meanie:

currently an A

Don't drop just take the A, if anything it will help raise your GPA.

Dropping a class at a community college looks bad to admission officers. Dropping a class even though you would have gotten an A anyway is like shooting yourself in the foot for fun.

It makes no sense to drop this class. Don't do it. Take the A.

No. Get your A and finish the class. Some schools do not like to see Ws.

So it is okay to drop a class at a university but not at a community college?😳
