I am going into my last semester of college and am allowed to underload. I am taking the last two classes for my major, and I was planning on using all my extra time doing research and studying for the DAT, which I am taking on April 2nd (I will have about 10 weeks to study).

Given that info, I'm still debating taking microbiology. Some schools require it, and if I did take it, there are realistically about 2 or maybe 3 more schools that I would end up applying to. That being said, it is a difficult class at my university and a big time commitment.

Would I be better off using that time to study for the DAT, or would my time better be spent taking this extra class?

Thanks!

Taking it definitely increases your options.

You will have plenty of time to study for the DAT only taking two classes

So you think I should take the third class (micro)?

I took 14 credits including physiology, and Ochem and labs and had plenty of time so J would personally.

I would take it. 3 classes plus 10 weeks of study time for the DAT should be easy enough to do unless you are a student athlete or work 40 hours a week or something. Another option would be to wait to take it next year sometime, after you apply and then if you get into a school that doesn't require the class, drop it, providing you can find a school that will allow that (or your current school)??
