I just took DAT yesterday

August 14..
Bio 26
Gchem 23
Ochem 29
QR 19 👎
RC 19 👎
PAT 19 👎
TS 25
AA 23

The problem is my Science GPA <3.0. 👎
Should I take more science classes at community College for next years cycle even if I have high TS score? 😕

can you take classes at a regular college?

schools don't want to take students in if they'll hurt their stats. maintaining their stats mean maintaining their selectivity and reputation. they'll let a strong score go if it means compromising their status.

Don't take classes from CC. It will boost ur GPA without a doubt but dental school will look down on ur shool.
I m not quite sure how they evaluate applicants but i heard that it's
school point + GPA + DAT + extra activities including shadowing and community services.

if you go to CC, ur school point will go down.

I'd say you should still take some more science classes, but your TS should help to alleviate concerns about your science skills. Hopefully you had an upward trend in your science GPA, that will also really help out. Apply to a variety of schools to improve your chances. Take a look at predents.com to find which schools seem to weigh the DAT more heavily than GPAs.

congrats on your DAT scores. you and I have almost exact scores DAT and sGPA-wise.

how come your TS is only a 25? your orgo is higher than mine by 1 point and everything is same but my TS is 26 . . . 😕

I'm taking more bio classes at my university to boost my science grade. I chose so because my thought is since I'm lacking, I've gotta make up for those. Going to a CC wouldn't really show I've got more persistance, drive, yadda yadda. I think it would just look like I'm trying to boost my GPA at minimal effort on my part. Boosting GPA is the bottom line but it would be more noteworthy to take an upper level bio/chem and pass with an A at a 4 year than a CC AND boost your GPA as a result.

btw, I'm really good at upper level bio and got same bio as you. I think you can totally handle the workload.
Also, finance is not an issue for me but it may be for you.
