If anyone looked it would look bad, but how much each school really looks at the details of your academic record is really variable. I've had interviewers ask me about individual courses and others not really know or care.

I would think that if you're using the class to get a letter of recommendation, the professor would know you already have a bs in mechanical engineering, and might mention it. That in and of itself would make me, personally, shy away from doing that.

Sorry that probably isn't what you wanted to hear, probably want to take something learny like biochemistry or something.

Okay, So I've already graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Would it look BAD if I decided to go back and take Physics 1? I had tested out of it via AP in High School, and I took Physics 2 and 3.

Almost ALL of my sciences were taken in 2004-2007, so I NEED a second science letter, and also taking this class would be an easy A for me, which I really need also to help my GPA out. So I'm taking this class to help my GPA and for a LOR. Would it look bad for me to do this, seeing how the class essentially is right up my major?

Also, would it be okay for me to take the Non-Calculus based course if the other ones I took were calculus based?

Retracted, see below.

It appears like you've got it covered.

I didn't read your post carefully enough, I assumed that because you took it in high school your main motivation was to take it as a refresher. If you're just taking it for a letter, and you want to hide that you have already taken much more rigorous versions of what's in physics 1 (kinematics) to trick the professor into thinking you're some kind of super star, then I hope you reconsider your ethics here because that's kinda sh*tty.

I'm willing to take you at face value and assume your motives are pure. What do you expect this potential letter writer to be able to say about you? I know you are trying to meet minimum requirements. These letters are an opportunity to help demonstrate your doctorliness, and my initial impression is that this is unlikely to generate a strong letter.

Depends on how good you are at memorization! Anatomy is all about memorizing things, not much logical thinking involved, unlike math or chemistry courses. Do you have the time to spend if needed to learn the material (ie are you working full time this summer while taking the course?)
If your just taking a course to get a letter, and your're not sure you want to do anatomy over the summer, just take the physics. Befriend the professor, let them know your goals and why you need a letter. Honesty is the best policy.
Good luck! Are you applying this cycle then?
Also, I've heard college anatomy is almost a joke compared to medical school anatomy, so I would hope you'd be able to handle it. 😉
