Should I transfer colleges?

Hi I will be attending Hunter College (NYC) this coming Fall as an undergrad freshman and hoping to get into Buffalo or Stony Brook for Dental School straight after graduating.

Just wanted to get some opinions on if I should transfer out of Hunter after a year to SUNY Buffalo or Stony Brook college to increase my chances into acceptance into their Dental School in the future. (Can I even transfer in a year or do I have to stay for two first?)

Or would transferring effect Dental School admissions?

Hunter, in my opinion is not as prestigious as SUNY Buffalo or Stony Brook, if that matters.

Thank you.

No, if anything you will have a better chance at Hunter.haha. Stony Brook is extremely competitive, so that would prob bring down your gpa. Buffalo is a great school, so I would understand if you want to transfer for another reason, but not to have a better chance at their school. I would say if you call their undergrad and ask, then you would get a more accurate answer, I am not positive if it would help, but i dont THINK it would really help.

If it does help, go to Buffalo over Stony Brook, you would have a better college experience, and if it does improve your chances at Buffalo, well thats a more realistic school to gain acceptance for dental school, due to stony brook being far more competitive with their dental school admissions process.

All of what I just said is pretty biased, so I apologize if I provided any inaccurate information...GL at Hunter.

Stay at Hunter if you like it. You'll have a better chance of getting to know your professors and getting awesome letters of rec.
