Hello everyone 🙂

I wanted to know if you think I should transfer. The school I currently go to is really small and that's part of what I like about it. I'm really close to my professors and have a nice research position with a teacher that's amazing. But, the school isn't challenging. I easily get straight A's and I know it's stupid to complain, because who doesn't like getting As? But I just feel uneasy and like I might not be getting a good education that will prepare me well for the future.

Should I transfer to a top 25-ish school I got into, or just wait it out? I'm already a sophomore in college and I'm pretty involved my current school too. I love it there, but the only things keeping me there are my friends and my research professor. What should I do?

Wait… you're asking complete strangers to help you with your college choices?

Some things to think about:
Have you spoken to your research professor about this? Your advisor?
Have you explored higher level courses?
Why do you think a top 25-ish college will be more challenging?
Can you bring some of those ideas (or a syllabus) to your advisor or an administrator?
Do other students feel the same way you do?
Can you do an independent study to make it more challenging?
Are you exploring the possibility of doing a study-abroad, only instead of going to another country, just go to another college?

Are you happy there?

If yes, stay.

Get your As and do more on your own if you want a challenge. Try and be a self-learner. You don't have to learn everything in the classroom and you can always challenge yourself by doing more on your own. You can also ask your professors what they think would be more challenging if it's really that easy for you.
