I currently go to Villanova University as a junior right now, but I'm considering transferring to Rutgers University in the spring of 2011 because of it's damn boring over here. My main concerns are what medical schools think about the transfer and how they will factor in my Villanova transcript. My cGPA right now is a 3.78 and I am almost done with my degree because of AP credits.

Is transferring in my situation a good or bad idea?

All grades earned at every post-high school institution attended will be included in your AMCAS application transcript.

It seems pointless to transfer for your final semester before graduation. If, however, you plan to stay until you complete a full four years (three full semesters), then you may have potentially better research and EC opportunities to enhance your med school application.

Med schools won't care if you have a good explanation (if asked). What you mentioned above should probably be rephrased, however.
