Last year I applied very late (Jan). Needless to say, I did not get in.

I have last years essay. Should I use it? What do you guys think?
Thanks

I would not suggest using the same essay, unless, absolutely nothing has changed in your life. Have you gotten any more experience in the dental field? The fact that your applying again, might be included, maybe that shows determination, etc.. But if you thought your essay was really great, its your call.

Do NOT use it.

You said "Needless to say, I did not get in."

Why did you not get in? From your brief post, I'm taking it that you are relying on the fact that it was because you interviewed late. That is certainly a possibility.

What if one position was between yourself and two other individuals, and your essay was just crap compared to theirs?

I'd redo it, or at least a signifigant portion of it.

If you didn't suceed last year, then don't do the same things this year that you did last year.

Big fat NO! If you are that lazy and if nothing happened to you in the last year worth writing about, maybe you should rethink even applying.
