Should I wait until I receive research description, or should I just submit now?

I'm working as a research specialist at my research lab, and just received word that I will be helping my PI on a publication.
The only problem is that I have no idea what research he is doing is about~

I sent him an email asking, so that I can put additional information concerning his research in my activities description. but it may take three to five days for him to respond.

The cycle is getting late
I was wondering, should I just send my application now (with only a description of my production responsibilities/no research information)? Or should I wait a few days for his response, enter the research information, and then submit it?

basically, I'm wondering how important that description may be...

I would call him and try to get in touch with someone in the lab to get an idea beforehand.. But I would wait for the description.. 3-5 days isnt going to be what makes/breaks your application, and this research position sounds like it could be important to your app
